Welcome back to #FeatureFriday! This week, we are featuring Davis Consulting Solutions.
Davis Consulting Solutions (DCS) provides services that support strategic execution of economic development and talent management. DCS serves the private sector, public sector, non-profit, and faith-based organizations, as well as groups and individuals.
It’s Community2Work® (C2W) program works with individuals from under-resourced communities to highlight, build, and strengthen transferable skills resulting in candidates who are qualified for employment.
DCS was founded in 2011 by Danielle Davis, Ph.D. and restructured in 2018. Having grown up in Pittsburgh and being keenly aware of the city’s transformation from a robust industrial economy, to a struggling economy, to a revitalized and diversified economy with a bold vision for the future, she was driven by a deep passion to play a leading role in community economic development, thus DCS was birthed to meet this need. For over 20 years she participated with like-minded people in bringing this vision to reality. Dr. Davis has a hunger for learning and for using her knowledge to enrich her community and in January 2020, she completed the Ph.D. program in Community Engagement at Point Park University with a focus on Community Economic Development.
DCS uses a holistic approach in serving their clients. DCS develops Custom Solutions to help address the unique challenges related to entrepreneurship, small business performance, workforce development, non-profit capacity building, and connections to resources. Their expertise includes government and diversity initiatives, leadership, workforce development, and entrepreneurship education.
Additionally, C2W addresses the challenges of the job market by providing job training, consulting services, career coaching and customized job search solutions for diverse candidates who seek long-term employment. They want to supply them with all of the resources and knowledge to make them a viable candidate for employment. Their team also helps clients to overcome barriers that may prevented them from obtaining and keeping sustainable employment.
A colleague from Guardian Tax Services, allowed Davis Consulting Solutions to share their space when it was newly formed which was cost effective. It was the best choice with its multi-cultural population and its bustling community with many opportunities. It was also easily accessible with the diverse public transportation options.
The East Liberty Chamber's board president, Lori Moran, is why DCS became a member of the chamber. She has supported Dr. Davis’ community efforts prior to the founding of Davis Consulting Solutions. "Additionally, the ELCC has much to offer members. They are so informative and provide relevant content on available services the local businesses supply. ELCC’s notification of the various types of events, community happenings, educational and job opportunities are easily accessible for everyone. Their favorite part about being a member is, "the many ways that they support Davis Consulting Solutions, Dr. Davis, and others in the community through programs, information sharing, referrals, and educational opportunities."
DCS plans on continuing to serve the community by providing solutions to community economic development by being involved in entrepreneurial training and coaching, as well as workforce development through our C2W program. Right now they are partnering with UPMC to assist them in diversify their staff through job opportunities and other organizations to provide COVID relief to small businesses.
Davis Consulting Solutions (DCS) is here to help! Their team goes beyond just sharing information to strengthen our communities and region economic efforts.
