Print Page

This month, OPDC & Pittsburgh Project are collecting old electronics to be recycled properly. Read the below release for all information:

"We are conducting a recycling fundraiser. There’s nothing to buy. We are simply asking you to protect the environment by donating your used consumer electronics.Your used item(s) may be tax deductible and will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations. Proceeds this month will help fund the Oakland Planning and Development Corporation and their efforts to keep our city beautiful and Pittsburgh Project; an after school and summer program for youths.

Orro is a fundraiser that gives students, parents, and organizations the opportunity to support their community, while positively effecting the environment. We are a free eco-friendly service that collects and processes used electronics and finds the most resourceful way of reusing, reducing or recycling each individual item to help raise money for an organization’s needs. After we have collected the items, our goal is to recycle them in the most efficient way possible. Ideally, this means that a majority of the items are reused for their original purpose. Funding for our beneficiaries comes from the proceeds of recirculating an item back into the market place.

We are currently collecting the following items:

Cell Phones
Copiers/Printers
Video Game Consoles
Apple iPods
Digital Cameras
iPads & Tablets
Laptops
Flat Screens
Desktops
Business Phones
Desktops
Networking Equipment

Please coordinate a pick-up by corresponding with james@orrofundraising.comAnything that we cannot use for fundraising will be recycled responsibly.  Nothing will end up back in a landfill or exported overseas."
